One of the most popular features of Yahoo Messenger is Yahoo Chat, the network's series of free chat rooms available directly from your favorite IM client.

Ready to get started? Yahoo Chat requires little more than a web browser, an Internet connection, and a free Yahoo account to start chatting online.

Before You Begin
Want to make your Yahoo Chat experience easier? Prior to entering the chatrooms, make sure you have the following computer system requirements and optional peripherals, including:

  • Internet connection
  • Free Yahoo ID, password
  • Yahoo Messenger client
