The Profileye application notifies users that a specific Facebook contact has viewed your profile along with two others, inviting users to install the application to learn who has been watching your profile. Once you click on the link in your notifications panel, a message appears along with a paid advertisement informing users there is no application available to track who views your profile.
Although Profileye appears to be nothing more than a spam application, the new annoyance spreads rapidly by collecting your Facebook contact data and inviting them to add the application without your knowledge. This could pose a potential threat somewhere down the road with another stealth application, such as Profileye and the Error Check System Message from February.
