Pidgin IM is a simple, easy-to-use IM client released under the GNU GPL license.

Pidgin IM offers multi-protocol support for a number of IM clients, including AIM, Gadu-Gadu, Gtalk, ICQ, MySpaceIM, Yahoo! Messenger, Windows Live Messenger and more.

PidginIM users will need screennames for each individual IM client desired.

With Pidgin IM 2.5.8, users can:

• add IM contacts

• send, receive IMs

• organize Pidgin IM contacts in groups

• manage multiple IM accounts

• save Pidgin IM chat logs

• appear as invisible to IM contacts

• transfer files

• add Buddy Icons
