How to Scan Someone's Snapcode to Add Them

Every Snapchat user has a unique Snapcode that can be scanned through the Snapchat app to quickly and automatically add them as a friend.

  1. Have your friend open Snapchat and navigate to their Snapcode. Their Snapcode is represented by the yellow square with the dotted pattern.

  2. Open Snapchat on your device and point your camera at your friend's Snapcode. Tap and hold the Snapcode on your device screen, then let go after a second or two.

You don't need to scan Snapcodes from another device. You can also have someone send a screenshot of their Snapcode, open it on a computer or other device, and then scan it from there.

  3. Tap Add Friend or Subscribe (depending on the user's privacy settings).
