Facebook Messenger is a great app for people who wish to use the social network's instant messaging service, Facebook Chat, away from their computer or while on the go. If you are not interested in everyone’s constant updates or having access to your newsfeed, this app is a great way to interact with friends in chat.

How to Download the Facebook Messenger App
Before you begin, you will need to follow these easy steps to download Facebook Messenger to your iPhone or iPod Touch:

1. Locate the App Store on your device.
2. Tap on the search bar (the field located at the top), and type in "Facebook Messenger."
3. Click on the Facebook Messenger app, as shown above.
4. Tap the blue "Free" button to continue.
