Send Free AIM Text Messages

The first step to sending AIM text messages is to open a new IM window in AIM 7. Click on "Menu" at the top of your AIM Buddy List, then select "New IM." You can also press CTRL + N on your keyboard as a shortcut.

A new IM window will appear on your desktop. Next, click the "or Send a Text Message Instead" link, and enter the 10-digit telephone number when prompted.
