While AIM Express is a pared down version of the AIM client based on the web, one feature that is included in addition to standard IM is the ability to create status messages. These little messages float next to your AIM screenname on your contact’s AIM Buddy List and can be serious or silly, dependent on mood.
Changing Your Status Message in AIM Express. The first step to changing your status message is to point your cursor to the status message field which reads “I’m Online” on the top of the AIM Express client window and click in the field.
