When users first sign-in to Yahoo! Messenger 9.0, they will be greeted by the Yahoo! Messenger Insider window, which offers users a look at recently updated stories on Yahoo! News, new email messages and an assortment of Yahoo! links.
While the Insider can be a useful tool for some, it might be a nuisance for others who just want to use Yahoo! Messenger for IM and audio/video chat.
To turn off Yahoo! Messenger Insider, select “Messenger” from the top Yahoo! toolbar, then select “Preferences.” The Yahoo! Messenger preferences menu can also be accessed by using the following shortkeys: Ctrl+Shift+P.
