While Facebook Chat is an excellent application you can use to keep in touch with your family and friends on Facebook, there are some features of this service that can be downright annoying at times. Luckily, the developers at Facebook have included a way to turn these features on and off based on your personal preferences.

Accessing the Settings Panel

To begin, locate the bust silhouette tab in the lower right hand corner of Facebook and click it to reveal the Facebook Chat application window. Next, click “Settings.”
