While it is illegal to possess nude photos of persons under the age of 18, Vermont legislators are reviewing legislation that would make the act of sexting legal among minors in the state.

Sexting, the act of engaging in sexual activity via cell phone or computer, includes the exchange of nude photographs and videos. Proponents of the bill say the proposed law would not remove stigma from the subject, but would protect minors from prosecution as sex offenders.

I am appalled! Did this law ever pass?

My kids’ cannot text for this very reason — and their cell phones do not cameras on them. My kids are not so happy about this but I do not want them taking, sending, or getting naughty pictures.
