CrystalIdea Beats MySpace on Mac IM Client

Tuesday November 18, 2008
While MySpaceIM might still only be available to those on a Windows OS, CrystalIdea debuted its third-party solution for Mac users this week.

MySpace for Mac is a fully-functional IM client, allowing users to connect directly with all their friends on the MySpaceIM client network; while the client does not offer Skype integration as the real MySpaceIM features, it is strong enough to quench any Mac user's thirst for a single-protocol client.

The client even features no ads, but at a cost: after an initial 30-day trial, continued use of MySpace for Mac will run you $9.95.

Bottom Line: If you really must have a MySpaceIM for Mac, the client is worth a try; however, I personally believe most Mac users would be better served by Adium's MySpaceIM functionality, which won't cost you anything in the long run.
