Hot App: New Client Delivers Triple Threat

Tuesday February 26, 2008
Multitaskers and social butterflies alike will really 'dig' our designated Hot Application of the Week, dotSyntax's digsby instant messaging client.

Touting a laundry list of great features, this open-source client delivers a triple threat in our initial tests of the software, offering a seamless IM, e-mail and social networking resource. In addition to allowing access to contacts from AIM, Yahoo!, Windows Live Messenger, Google Talk, ICQ and more, digsby also offers e-mail alerts and connectivity to MySpace and Facebook social networking accounts.

The Verdict: With a bevy of personalization options and management tools, digsby could just become the go-to IM client for the young, the busy and the fabulous. Five stars.

Just a small correction. :) Digsby is not open source. But it is still a great app with more greatness to be expected.

the best multi-IM platform out there! integrates all services seemlessly! definitely have to give it a try if you use ANY combination of services (AIM, Y!, MSN, GTalk, Facebook, MySpace, etc)

i was once a pidgin fan but then i tried digsby back in early to mid feb (around when alpha ended and beta began) and since then i wont use another messenger, i even converted some ppl into digby fans

free skins and free themes: trillian charged for

integrated spell checker and guifications: pidgin u had to install seperately

only disadvantages i see are the crashes of twitter and disconnection of email along with not showing u when ur disconnected like trillian and pidgin does.

Digsby is by far the best milti messenger i have ever used. The creators are very witty and know exactly what the market needed today. Everyone who is using some other form of multi messenger, switch NOW
